organization that serves a local high school. new at 10:00, john sasaki live in contra costa county where those thieves hit sometime during the past week. john-- >> reporter: frank, those two groups they store all of their supplies here and tonight they are devastated. one gives high school seniors a night of their lives and the other delivers christmas to thousands of people who would other wise go without. >> reporter: christmas trees in march, but here in contra costa county there is not much christmas cheer. >> after 28 years it shuts us down. >> reporter: these organizations help supply christmas to hundreds of people every year. >> anyone who needs christmas. >> reporter: but all that is in jeopardy because thieves broke into the warehouse and cleaned up most everything of value. >> all our big cooks pots, thousands of dollars of presents. they took our trees, decorations, clothes every single thing -- 68 tables. 100 chairs. >> unconsciousable that someone would steal from an organization like that. >> they got probably $10,000 of equipment of ours which included tools, electronics, exten

left administrators and students reeling from the loss. john sasaki is live in san bruiny on where the thieves made off with high-priced technology. john? >> reporter: gasia, about 10:00 last night, the thieves cut that chain and in the back of the building into the technology classrooms. someone broke through the door to get into the room, and it was fully stocked with im ac computers and carts with ipads, ipods, and other computers but the thieves went to the newest and most expensive m ac books with nothing else touched rising the possibility that the criminals knew the layout. they took 22 computers but dropped four of them outside getting away. >> each of the computers is worth $2,000, and i have not begun to price out the software on there. most is subscription based. we pay a fee every year. >> if someone can reach out and help us find them, anybody they can do to help, we will accept it because it's for the children. >> reporter: the school is now on spring break and the staff and police are hoping to find the computers before the students return a week from monday. live in

in a massive crime sweep today. john sasaki is live in oakland where city leaders say these efforts must be paired with gun control laws. >> reporter: oakland police have been hitting the most violent gangs in the city hard. today they targeted one specific gang. oakland police released this survey listens video of a recent armed robbery near lake merit they say was committed by members of a relatively new gang. >> they were responsible for a numerous robberies of similar motives to this. we want the public we showed to ask them if they recognize the face of those who were victims. probably the most violent young group of people i've seen in my 25 years. >> repoer: police also released video showing a huge operation they conducted this morning in which they served 24 search warrants and busted 18 known gang members. >> we found out fairly quickly these groups were coming up with different ways every day to commit crimes around the city. >> reporter: at a news conference today, melinda hayes invoked the napes of the detectives who were recently killed. >> the risks our investigators take
